Visual Studio Linker Debugging Properties
Here we will examine the C++ Linker Debugging Properties Tab.
Generate Debug Info This option tells the Linker whether or not to generate debugging information. As you would expect, we want Yes for Debug builds and No for Release builds.
Debuggable Assembly This option tells the Linker whether or not to generate assembly debugging information. As you would expect, (even if you don't plan on debugging any assembly...) we want this to be enabled for Debug builds and disabled for Release builds. Choices include:
No Debuggable Attribute Emitted
Runtime Tracking and Disable Optimization
No Runtime Tracking and Enable Optimization
For Debug builds: choose Runtime Tracking and Disable Optimization.
For Release builds: choose No Runtime Tracking and Enable Optimization.
